Rides around Worcester

WCC cycling and walking routes

Worcestershire County Council provides a wealth of resources for cyclists and walkers eager to explore the region. A series of circular routes have been designed to showcase the diverse landscape, incorporating quiet lanes, off-road paths, and bridleways. These routes cater to varying fitness levels, with shorter options available on some.

In addition to circular routes, there are A to B routes connecting to the National Cycle Network that traverses Worcestershire. Detailed maps are available for download, covering areas like Droitwich, Evesham, Bromsgrove, Malvern, Kidderminster, Pershore, Redditch, and Worcester.

Beyond the official routes, the page also provides links to other suggested routes, although these aren’t verified so we suggest a little investigation of the route before heading out.

NCN route 45

Fancy a bike ride with a difference? Why not explore the beautiful countryside between Worcester and Droitwich Spa?

You've got two great options to choose from. Route 45 takes you along peaceful lanes and the Worcester and Birmingham Canal towpath, perfect for soaking up the scenery. Or try Route 46, which heads out west past Pitchcroft Racecourse and the Pump House Environmental Centre.

Both routes are under 10 miles, mostly flat, and ideal for a leisurely cycle. Starting at Diglis Bridge, they offer a fantastic way to rediscover our local area. Do one route or combine both for a longer adventure!
