Notes from recent meeting
The notes from our recent meeting can be found here: Meetings. Thanks to everyone who came and it was good to see new people. Some of the topics covered iincluded preparations for the Cycle Sunday event on Sunday 9th June, the chance of getting a "pump track" at Perdiswell and also feedback from the scrutiny meeting at Worcestershire County Council.
What is a pump track?
A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders "pumping"—generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing. It was originally designed for the mountain bike and BMX scene, and now, due to concrete constructions, is also used by skateboard and scooter riders, and accessible to wheelchairs. Pump tracks are relatively simple to use and cheap to construct, and cater to a wide variety of rider skill levels. We would like to have one at Perdiswell. British Cycling money is available, if we can get council support.
